Indianapolis Cooking Classes
The variety of recreational cooking classes available in the Indianapolis area has expanded to meet the demand for fun foodie activities. The Indianapolis area has a couple of very unique cooking classes and experiences.
Conner Prairie
This unique living history museum and park in Fishers, Indiana provides an opportunity to use traditional cooking techniques to prepare meal straight from the pages of a 19th-century cookbook. Or try preparing a meal over an open fire at an Arts and Arms Hearth Cooking workshop.
Smoking Goose -The Dorman Street Locker
The Dorman Street Meat Locker provides classes in meat butchering and preparing cured meats. Owner Chris Eley leads participants through activities, demonstrations and recipes, participants enjoy a selection of tasty samples.

Chef Matthew Meija from The Chef’s Academy and Chef Lauren Day formerly of Taylor’s Bakery and Robert Scheer, The Wine Dude, Indianapolis Star have a created a wonderful environment for culinary skill development. There are Knife Skill classes, Cooking with Beer sessions or learn how to make Dog Treats and Canine Birthday Cakes!
Saffron Cafe
Chef Anass Sentissi shares his deep knowledge of traditional Moroccan recipes, cuisine and culture in a four-hour cooking class. The class includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and food to take home.
Indy Star Chef Cooking Classes at Indy's Kitchen
Besides cooking classes, this is a commercial kitchen, where caterers, bakers, food-truck owners and entrepreneurs can rent space. There is a dining space for special events and the cooking classes led by Chef Dwight Simmons, formerly of Kiss Z Cook.
Williams Sonoma Northside of Indianapolis
This retail kitchen store located at the Fashion Mall at Keystone holds demonstration classes throughout the year. Complimentary demonstration technique classes are offered at noon on Sundays. Week day offerings include a two-hour Tuesday demonstration classes ($ meal included) or once a month on Wednesdays the Cookbook Club ($ meal included) attendees enjoy a meal, a cooking demonstration and take home the book of the month.
