Even foodies hate grocery shopping, it is a chore that we
suffer through.Now I have
an app for that! I love my i-phone.While there are apps for everything, I
wasn’t suremy i-phone could help
improve my grocery shopping experience. After trying several different grocery list apps I settled on Grocery Gadget.
The Grocery Gadget
app took some time to set up, but now it is a breeze to keep track of items
that I need to purchase. I always have my phone with me and I can
add to the list on the go.For
longer list updates you can access an online group version of Grocery Gadget.
This i-phone application does a great job with helping manage
my grocery lists and other lists I use regularly.Yes, Grocery Gadget
allows you to keep multiple lists.
Here are the Grocery
Gadget features I use for Weekly
Grocery Shopping:
Create my weekly shopping list from items I have
entered into grocery gadget list.
Add item pictures to identify important brands
as needed.
Organize food by categories(i.e. dairy, cereal etc…)
Arrange categories on how you go through your store or alphabetically.
Check off items as you shop and the item goes to
the bottom of the list.
Email the list to your spouse or helper. (YES!- I love help on grocery shopping!)
Track prices & total cost at the store. No surprises for tight budgets. Adding
in the price takes a little extra time, so I only use this feature
occasionally. However using
pricing info allows you to keep better tabs on prices and sales.
I’ve also created a Trader Joe’s list forthat includes items unique to Trader Joe’s and now also have a Farmer’s Market list. Another handy list is a Pre-vacation To Do List, I can check off critical activities
prior to leaving the house for an extended trip.Eventually I will add more lists to extend Grocery Gadget
usefulness well beyond getting groceries.
Grocery shopping is still a chore, but I’m more efficient
and organized with my new i-phone appGrocery
Gadget by Flixoft was well worth $2.99. I love being able to share the list with helpers! This application works on both
the i-touch and i-phone. Get your own version at the Apple App Store.
